Philosophy of Education
It’s funny to me, that while I’m writing my Philosophy of Education Paper, my Philosophy on Education and the teacher I want to be is mostly things I’ve pulled from my past teachers and my experience as a student and how I wish my teachers had been and not techniques or philosophies I’ve learned in this class. For instance, my opinion of standardized tests causing teachers to teach how to pass a test rather than the subject at hand, my belief that teaching to the individual not the whole is the best way to make sure your students are getting the attention they need and doing this by breaking the students into smaller groups based on learning styles or strengths and weakness, or my belief that there should be more real world applications in the classroom. These things came from my favorite teachers or they’re the opposite of what my least favorites did.
